A Century of Los Angeles Golf
Golf in Los Angeles goes back more than a hundred years, and these three maps cover a good part of that history. Harding Golf Course is the oldest here. It opened in 1923 on a William H. Johnson design. Rancho Park came along in 1949, laid out by William P. Bell. Wilson Golf Course sits in Griffith Park. Each print traces every hole as it actually lies on the ground, so you can follow a round you know by heart.
Picking Your Los Angeles Course Print
Start with the course the golfer actually plays, whether that's a weekly round at Rancho Park or an early tee time at Wilson. A 12x16 suits a desk or a narrow hallway. An 18x24 works over a sideboard or in an office, and a 24x32 can anchor a den wall. Green frames suit the fairways, black looks sharp in a modern room, and white keeps things light. For a gift, two or three of these courses hung together make a nice record of years spent playing golf around the city.
