From Dorchester Parkland to the Islands

Golf in Massachusetts, as these six courses show it, runs from old city ground out to the islands. William J Devine Franklin Park Golf Course in Dorchester dates to 1896, and George Wright Golf Course in Hyde Park is a 1938 Donald Ross design. Across the water, Miacomet on Nantucket opened in 1964, and Geoffrey Cornish's Farm Neck in Oak Bluffs on Martha's Vineyard followed in 1979. Cranberry Valley in Harwich, a 1974 David Johnson layout, and Rees Jones's Pinehills in Plymouth complete the set.

Choosing yours

Picking Your Massachusetts Course and Frame

Start with the course that means the most to you or the golfer you're buying for. That might be their home course, a summer round on the Vineyard or Nantucket, or the one Donald Ross designed. A 12x16 inch print fits a desk or a smaller wall, and the 18x24 and 24x32 inch sizes hold their own in an office or den. A black frame sharpens the map, white keeps it light, and green gives it a clubhouse feel. Two island courses make a natural pair, or hang Franklin Park, George Wright and Pinehills together as a set of three.
