Five Decades of San Francisco Golf
These four courses trace San Francisco golf from 1895 to 1951. Presidio Golf Course came first, laid out in 1895 by Robert Wood Johnstone. Lincoln Park Golf Course followed in 1902. The Harding Course at TPC Harding Park, a Willie Watson design, dates to 1925, and Golden Gate Park Golf Course opened in 1951. All four are inside the city. Each map shows how the holes fit the ground they were given, with the fairways, greens, bunkers and water drawn from real map data.
Picking Your San Francisco Course and Frame
If you're buying for someone, start with the course they play most or the one they keep talking about after a round. The 12x16 fits a desk or a narrow wall. The 18x24 works over a sideboard or in a den, and the 24x32 holds its own above a sofa or in an office. Black frames sharpen the lines, white keeps things light and green gives a clubhouse feel. All four share a city and a style, so two or three hung together in matching frames make an easy San Francisco set.
