South Carolina Golf From Charleston to North Myrtle Beach
These eleven courses follow South Carolina golf along its coast, from Charleston Municipal, open since 1929, to Atlantic Dunes by Davis Love III, which arrived in 2016. Myrtle Beach has The Dunes Golf Beach Club, a Robert Trent Jones design from 1948, plus Grande Dunes, with Tom Fazio's work at Barefoot Resort just north. Pawleys Island holds two Mike Strantz layouts, Caledonia and True Blue. Hilton Head offers Pete Dye's Harbour Town, and Kiawah Island has The Ocean Course.
Picking a South Carolina Course and Frame
Start with the course they talk about most, whether that is a regular round at Charleston Municipal or a trip to Harbour Town. The 12x16 suits a desk or bookshelf and makes an easy gift, while the 24x32 holds its own above a sofa or in a den. Black frames sharpen the lines, white keeps things light in a beach house, and green suits an office. For a set, pair the two Strantz courses from Pawleys Island, or hang three Myrtle Beach area maps side by side.
